Welcome to Attleborough Academy! In these strange times, this is where we will post all of the latest information about Year 6 to Year 7 Transition 2021.
My name is Hayley Cushing, and I am the teacher in charge of Transition and the Progress Leader for Year 7 at Attleborough Academy.
Please find below two letters. One regarding the finishing of the enrolment process as discussed at the parents evening for Friday 3rd September. The other is the consent form that you need to fill on and bring with you on that day for consent of the COVID LFT.
All other information has now been sent out – if you feel you may have missed something- please do email me with specific questions.
I look forward to seeing you and your child on the 3rd for the final enrolment process and then again on Monday 6th September.
First Day Back the Autumn Term will begin for students on Monday 6 September 2021. As in previous years, there will be two start times with bus pick-ups for both times. Students who will be in Years 7 and 12 are expected to be at the Academy as usual from 08.30 for the start of the day at 08.40. Year 7 students should make their way to the ‘old reception’ where I will welcome them into our school hall. They should be there for no later than 8:40.
All other year groups will be required to arrive at the Academy at the later time of 11.15 (breaktime) and go straight to Period 3 to meet their new Form Tutor. The later bus ‘pick up’ times for students who will be in Year 8 to Year 11 and Year 13, will be two and a half hours later than the usual pick up time.
From Tuesday 7 September 2021, students in all year groups will start as usual from 08.40 in their form rooms. All students in Years 7 to 11 will be expected to be in full and correct ‘Winter’ Academy uniform from the beginning of next term.

Summer Transition Activities
Below are some activities for students joining in September to do over the summer holiday; we hope you enjoy them!
I am aware that you are all awaiting information on what House/Form your child will be in, so you can order/purchase the PE top in the correct colour.
I am hoping House/Form information will come out for the beginning of next week as myself and the staff involved in allocating have been extremely busy with marking of TAGS for GCSE and A Level. So now we are just placing the final parts of the puzzle of students into forms/houses as we have a lot of siblings this year that we must organise into the same house.
Ties are all the same colour now, so all will wear the same one. They will cost £7 and be available to purchase from the Academy office. We are waiting for delivery, once delivered we will let you know.
Although we have had to reduce the transition real time at the Academy (which is beyond our control), I hope like myself your child is excited by this prospect to experience some time at the Academy. We will endeavor to send out some extra transition ideas and tasks to help ease the process as much as we can. Please do get in touch should you have any further questions or concerns.
Many thanks for your continued support and understanding in these unprecedented times.
