Science Technician
SCP 5-6 (£16,466 to £17,169 pro-rata salary)
Term time plus one week
37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

With effect from September 2021, we are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to support the teaching of Science enabling the smooth running of practical classes and maintaining a safe working environment.

Working under the day-to-day supervision of the Senior Science Technician and the Head of the Science Faculty, you will be required to assist and support the Science Department which will include maintaining equipment and preparing resources for Science lessons.

The successful candidate will be a team player providing an effective support service with a good understanding of laboratory Health and Safety. A knowledge of Chemistry, Biology and Physics is desired as well as knowing the workings of a laboratory.

The appointed candidate will be joining an existing flexible, resilient and hardworking team. You must have positive approaches to and enjoy working with young people. In turn, you will have a fulfilling opportunity work with staff and students within our Academy community.

1:1 Learning Support Assistant (Behaviour)
SCP 5-6 (£14,092 to £14,374 pro-rata salary)

32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday from 08.30 to 15.30)

With effect from September 2021, we are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join the Academy’s Student Support Team. This post is linked to a Year 7 student with challenging behaviour who will need support with all aspects of school life to support access to and attitudes to their learning and progress. As such, the post is fixed term for the duration of the student’s academic career at the Academy (Year 7 to Year 11 and possibly Sixth Form).

The successful candidate will need to be flexible, resilient and hardworking and committed to the role. A natural empathy, caring nature and proven experience of working with vulnerable and challenging students is an advantage as such qualities are are essential requirements to work in this challenging but extremely rewarding position.
