Teacher of History (Maternity Cover)
Main Pay Scale

With effect from January 2022, we are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational History teacher to cover a period of maternity leave.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and committed teacher to join a department that works collaboratively with other subject areas within our Humanities Faculty to enrich the learning and developmental experiences for all our students. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach at all Key Stages (KS3 to KS5). Depending on the experience of the successful candidate, there could be an opportunity to take on a shared management role as Subject Leader of History.

Learning Support (Student Support Mentor)
SCP 7-11 (£16,206 to £17,541 pro-rata salary)
Term Time plus one week
35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

With effect from November 2021, we are seeking to appoint a Student Support Mentor to join the Academy’s Student Support Team. The successful candidate will be supporting the needs of a range of students whether that is in or out of the classroom and in our Inclusion Centre. There may be an expectation for the successful candidate to focus on a particular specialism within the team.

The appointed candidate will be joining an existing dynamic, flexible, resilient and hardworking Student Support Team. A natural empathy, caring nature and proven experience of working with vulnerable students are all essential requirements to work in this challenging but extremely rewarding position.

Learning Support Assistant (Student Specific)
SCP 5-6 (£14,093 to £14,572 pro-rata salary)
Term Time only
32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

With effect from November 2021, we are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join the Academy’s Student Support Team. This post is linked to a Year 7 student with challenging behaviour who will need support with all aspects of school life to support access to and attitudes to their learning and progress. As such, the post is fixed term for the duration of the student’s academic career at the Academy (Year 7 to Year 11 and possibly Sixth Form).

The successful candidate will need to be flexible, resilient and hardworking and committed to the role. A natural empathy, caring nature and proven experience of working with vulnerable and challenging students is an advantage as such qualities are are essential requirements to work in this challenging but extremely rewarding position.

Science Technician
SCP 5-6 (£16,466 to £17,169 pro-rata salary)
Term Time plus one week
37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

With effect from November 2021, we are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to support the teaching of Science enabling the smooth running of practical classes and maintaining a safe working environment.

Working under the day-to-day supervision of the Senior Science Technician and the Head of the Science Faculty, you will be required to assist and support the Science Department which will include maintaining equipment and preparing resources for Science lessons.

The successful candidate will be a team player providing an effective support service with a good understanding of laboratory Health and Safety (training will also be given). A knowledge of Chemistry, Biology and Physics is advantageous.

Minibus Driver
SCP 5-6 (£7,588 to £7,740 pro-rata salary)
Term Time
17.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

We are currently recruiting for a Minibus Driver to provide safe and reliable transport in line with student educational requirements. The successful candidate will work as an individual and as part of a team to deliver high quality customer service to students and related support operations on the school site.

Applicants for this post must hold a full pre-1997 driving licence with B/BE/C1/C1E/D1/D1E driving entitlements or if post-1997, have successfully passed additional tests to cover entitlements B/BE/C1/C1E/D1/D1E. Applicants must also be prepared to undertake and successfully pass the minibus driving assessments prior to employment.

We ask that applicants be enthusiastic and possess a calm, organised and approachable character which is seen as an essential part of the role. You must have a clear commitment to working with young people and be able to set clear guidelines for them. The post offers a fulfilling opportunity to work responsibly with young people in the Academy.
