Attleborough Academy is a popular, 11 to 18 Academy which is continually developing to meet the demands of providing the highest quality education for all students. Attleborough as a town is poised for major expansion and the Academy is the chosen secondary to have facilities developed as part of the Masterplan. In conjunction with Breckland District Council, extensive building and development work is taking place in areas such as our Sports Hall area to create a new Leisure Centre, a 3G pitch on our playing fields and new Science and Sixth Form facilities.

The Academy joined the Sapientia Education Trust (SET) in June 2020 which was an exciting and important development for the school. The SET are committed to bringing like-minded schools together to work in partnership to develop a world class education. This merger has multiple benefits in terms of teaching and learning and new opportunities for students and staff. Just before Easter 2023, we were delighted to announce that we had been awarded the World Class School Quality Mark which is a tribute to all in our community.

We are an inclusive, friendly and effective learning community with high aspirations and a reputation for innovation. Excellent relationships between students and staff are at the heart of the ethos of the Academy and are often commented on by those who visit the school. Indeed, in our most recent Ofsted Inspection (2021), we were termed a ‘special place to be’. The Academy is a hardworking and caring community of people with high standards and high expectations. Our core values are Commitment, Acknowledgement, Respect and Excellence (CARE). CARE therefore has a genuine meaning within our school as we want the Academy to be a place where these values are seen in all aspects of our work together.

Classroom Assistant

CLASSROOM ASSISTANTS
SCALE 5-6 (£17,675 TO £18,293 PRO RATA SALARY)

32.5 HOURS PER WEEK
TERM TIME PLUS ONE WEEK

With effect from September 2024, we are seeking to appoint two Classroom Assistants to join the Academy’s Student Support Team.

Both positions may be linked to individual students who will need help and support in lessons to be able to access their learning and make progress. As such, these roles are fixed term and will be reviewed each academic year due to being linked to High Needs funding.

The Student Support Team is a very close-knit and effective group of individuals who provide high quality and personalised care and support in the belief that this is key to student success and enjoyment during their time at the Academy.

The successful candidates will need to be flexible, resilient and hardworking and committed to the role. A natural empathy, caring nature and proven experience of working with vulnerable and challenging students is an advantage as such qualities are essential requirements to work in this challenging but extremely rewarding position.

Please visit the Sapientia Education Trust website www.se-trust.org to download an application pack for this position. The Trust offers its staff a comprehensive and competitive package, great benefits, a commitment to their development and fantastic culture and values.

It is expected that interviews will take place on Wednesday 4 September 2024 and shortlisted applicants will be contacted by email with details of the arrangements. The post will be offered subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance.

Closing date for receipt of applications: Tuesday 27 August 2024 (by 09.00)
