Blood Brothers

Posted on 7th Jul 2023

To support their English Literature and Drama GCSEs, eighty-nine Year 10 students travelled to watch a production of Willy Russell's 'Blood Brothers' at Norwich's Theatre Royal.

Set against the backdrop of 1960s Liverpool, 'Blood Brothers' follows the story of a pair of twins who were separated at birth and haunted by a superstition that sealed their tragic fate. Exploring the themes of class, education, and the power of nature vs. nurture, this play critiques the sense of determinism stemming from Britain's rigid class stereotypes.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the production, with many being brought to tears during the climactic final scenes.
