Year 10 - Succeeding at GCSE Evening

Our Year 10 Succeeding at GCSE Evening was designed to help parents and carers understand what the next two years will look like as students begin their GCSE journey. The evening covered how GCSEs are graded and assessed, how we monitor progress, the importance of attendance and attitude to learning, and the support available to students throughout Key Stage 4.

We also explored the habits that help students succeed at GCSE, including regular revision, organisation, completing homework, responding to feedback and building effective routines. Parents were given practical advice on how they can support these habits at home while helping students become increasingly independent learners.

The presentation also includes more detailed information from our English, Maths, Science and Humanities departments, including course content, assessment arrangements, recommended resources and ways parents can support learning at home.
