The Allotment Club has had a very successful Autumn with vegetable beds tidied and roses pruned.  We have a bumper crop of pumpkins and beans which had been quietly thriving over the summer. Various vegetables were shared and taken home to be eaten.

We have paused the main school club for the winter, but we have two new sixth form volunteers who are looking after the garden as their voluntary contribution.  Scott and Adams have done an amazing job clearing, weeding and planting winter crops such as garlic and shallots.  They are now cutting the Peter Beales roses right back, ready for a stunning display next spring. They will also be managing the hedges, relocating the compost bins and continuing to bed everything down for winter.

The school pond has been improved and continues to be a wildlife haven.  There are newts, dragonflies and the odd fish whose arrival is a bit of a mystery!

Our next project will be to plan our entry for the 2024 Norfolk Show Garden competition.

Any donations of gardening gloves or tools, especially secateurs, would be very gratefully received.
