A group of our Year 12 Maths students went on a trip to the UEA to get involved in a problem-solving day. They were given tips and hints on how to set out their workings, show their logical thought processes and how to approach questions that look like they are really tough.

There were three different workshops across the day. The first one was on solving problems and in the second they had to write their own questions - they were determined to make them as difficult as possible for each other! The third, and final, session was about how to lay out proof and show a mathematical argument.
