Student Success: Maxim Morgan Elected Deputy Youth Parliament Representative for West Norfolk and Breckland
Posted on 27th Mar 2026We are delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievement of Year 10 student Maxim Morgan at Attleborough Academy who has been elected as Deputy Member of Youth Parliament for West Norfolk and Breckland.
The Youth Parliament is a national organisation made up of 300 elected representatives from across the UK. It provides a powerful platform for young people aged 11–18 to represent the views of their peers and influence decisions on issues such as education, mental health and the environment. Successful candidates serve a two-year term, giving them the opportunity to make a sustained impact on the issues that matter most to young people.
At Attleborough Academy, Maxim first took part in a competitive internal election process to determine our student representative for the regional ballot. Throughout this process, he stood out for his confidence, clarity of ideas and genuine commitment to representing others.
During the regional campaign, Maxim demonstrated outstanding communication skills and a strong understanding of the issues affecting young people. In his role as Deputy Member of Youth Parliament, Maxim is particularly keen to build on his interest in political engagement and hopes to give young people a stronger voice on issues that directly affect their lives.
Speaking about Maxim’s success, Mr Guardi, who led the Academy’s Youth Parliament election process, said: “Maxim should be incredibly proud of what he has achieved. The Youth Parliament is a national platform with 300 elected representatives and to be elected as Deputy Member of Youth Parliament across such a large area is a brilliant accomplishment. It reflects not only his determination and confidence but also his genuine commitment to representing the views of other young people. I’m really excited to see what he can achieve in the role, particularly in encouraging more students to engage with politics and have their voices heard.”
Students at Attleborough Academy will also have the opportunity to hear from Maxim and share their views directly. He will be available at Debate Club, which runs every Thursday, and will also be supporting the Ready2Vote campaign for 16 year olds as part of the PSHE programme.
We are incredibly proud of Maxim’s achievement and look forward to seeing how he continues to develop his leadership skills and make a positive contribution both in the Academy and beyond.
Well done, Maxim!
