A Level Art Excursion

Posted on 14th Oct 2022

On 14 October 2022 our A-Level Art students had the opportunity to take part in a fantastic event organised by the Castle Museum and Norwich University of the Arts. During the day, we met with students from the NUA who showed us the university campus and gave us an insight into the buildings and all the machinery and equipment used by the Art and Textiles students there.

We then went onto a guided tour and talk in the Castle Museum as well as the East Gallery and looked at the astonishing work created by the Singh Twins who combine traditional Art with contemporary design and explore very critically the themes of society, tradition, and cultural heritage.

In the afternoon, we then enjoyed a textiles workshop led by one of the university’s lecturers, where students combined various textiles and art techniques to create intricate flag designs.

It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, see contemporary Art work close-up and gain such a wonderful insight into student life at the NUA.
