Future Chef

Year 11 students represented the Academy at the local final of the FutureChef competition.

FutureChef is a national programme which ‘allows pupils to learn about practical cookery and enhance their culinary skills along with building knowledge and helping them grow in confidence in the kitchen as they gain experience.’ The competition has been designed to ‘develop students’ cooking skills and allow them to show their creative side through food.’

Isabelle Aldous and Harrison Downing from Year 11 represented the Academy at the local final, which was held at City College Norwich. Competing under time pressures and against students from other local schools, both students did an incredible job and we were absolutely delighted that Isabelle was chosen as the winner! She impressed the judges with her dish of a pillow of chicken served on a bed of mash, with a cream sauce, accompanied by sprouts, carrots and swede.
