University of Suffolk Life Sciences Trip

Posted on 4th Feb 2026
On 4th February 2026, a cohort of our Year 12 students visited the University of Suffolk for an inspiring Health and Life Sciences Taster Day. Organised by Phyllis through the Higher Aspirations Scheme, the event brought together students from schools across Norfolk to explore a wide range of exciting career pathways.

Throughout the day, our students immersed themselves in university-style learning, taking part in mock lectures and seminars. Each student selected two subject areas from an impressive range of courses, including Wildlife and Conservation and Paramedic Science. These sessions were led by university lecturers and supported by student ambassadors, giving our students a genuine insight into what studying at university is really like.

The visit also included a tour of the ever-expanding campus. Students explored accommodation, lecture theatres and social spaces, as well as learning about the new pharmacy building set to open this autumn. Current University of Suffolk students were on hand throughout the day to answer questions about courses, campus life and the transition from sixth form to higher education.

Accompanied by Mr Curtis and Miss Thorne, our students also had the opportunity to meet and connect with like-minded peers from other schools, broadening their horizons and building confidence as they prepare for their post-18 journeys.

We extend our sincere thanks to Phyllis for organising such a valuable opportunity, and to the University of Suffolk staff and student ambassadors for their warm welcome and support.

We are incredibly proud of how our Year 12 students represented Attleborough Sixth Form — with maturity, curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day.
