Curriculum Enhancement Week - Escher Tessellations

Posted on 30th Jun 2022

I was so impressed with all the groups who took part in the Escher tessellations activity.  It was quite a calming hour of mindfulness with some lovely creations, some quite ingenious.

We looked at one aspect of Escher’s art; his repeating patterns, made from templates the students created.  It follows the discovery Escher made in how to make a non regular shape tessellate.

You can see some of the works in progress here and there is a display of more artwork in the maths block.

Well done all who took part.
